🌲 Farmhouse Christmas Tree Skirt Sewing Pattern

🌼 Supplies Needed

1½ yards main fabric
-
¾ yard contrast or patchwork fabrics
-
⅔ yard binding OR ½ yard for bias binding
-
1 yard lightweight batting
-
Matching thread
-
Pins or clips
-
Ribbon ties (optional)
✂️ Cutting Instructions
Panels:
Cut 8 wedge panels using the template in the PDF.
For patchwork:
Cut 40 squares (5" x 5") → sew into 8 strips → trim into wedges.
Binding:
Cut 2.5" WOF strips → join for approx. 160".
🧵 How to Assemble the Tree Skirt
Step 1 — Piece the Wedges
Sew 8 wedges together with ¼" seams.
Leave 1 seam open (for the slit).
Step 2 — Cut the Center Opening
Fold, fold again, and cut a 4" circle.
Step 3 — Quilt Sandwich
Layer: backing → batting → top.
Baste flat.
Step 4 — Quilting
Use straight-line quilting, stitch-in-the-ditch, or crosshatch.
Step 5 — Binding
Sew binding around outer edge, slit opening, and center circle.
Step 6 — Add Ties
Add ribbon ties or buttons on slit edge.
